I don’t know where to begin to express my gratitude to Caroline and Nelson’s family, this is already the fifth time I photograph for them since I started offering ‘Day in the Life’ session back in 2019! From client to friend, this is no doubt a beautiful journey, and it’s amazing that I have developed a special bond with their kids. Watching through the pictures over the years is like watching them grow at the same time.

Documenting different stages of life for a family is something that I really want to accomplish, I strongly believe that these real pictures of everyday life will one day turn into a meaningful photo story, and a priceless gift for the kids, and their kids. This is the magic of documentary family photography. Many families in Hong Kong have moved to other countries due to obvious reasons, therefore I really cherish every opportunity that I have to photograph for this family and other families as well.

從2019年起，每年一次為 Caroline 和 Nelson 的家庭拍攝 ‘Day in the Life’，來到今年已是第五年！對他們一家的支持，實在是無限的感謝！持續地替一個家庭紀錄他們人生的不同階段，是我拍攝 ‘Day in the Life’ 最想做到的其中一件事。當一張一張日常生活的平凡照片，若干年後放在一起看，將會變成一組饒有意義的圖輯，就像看著一部家庭傳記。而這些照片，訴說的是真實的故事，這也正是紀實家庭攝影的力量。

很多香港家庭，都已舉家移民海外，我自己也遷居台灣，但仍兩地往來，維持著香港日益艱難的攝影工作。難得地，拍攝 Caroline 和 Nelson 一家的「傳統」仍能持續，我也更加珍惜每次拍攝機會。雖然五次拍攝，實際見面就只有五天，卻總覺得他們是相識已久的朋友；而和他們兩個小朋友相處，加上這些照片，我也像見證著他們的成長一樣，感覺很微妙~
